Reverse Shelter Valley Shuffle

Meet at: Parking lot at N/W corner of Elais/Hector and Augusta near Port Hope Town Hall

Scenic ride through the Northumberland hills. Water and snacks available in Baltimore, Vernonville and Grafton. Regroups as needed to keep everyone together.

The ride will be done in the clockwise direction instead of the usual counter-clockwise direction.

Port Hope To Rice Lake Hilly 100

Meet at: Parking lot at N/W corner of Augusta and Elias Sts near Port Hope Town Hall

Scenic and challenging ride from Port Hope to Rice Lake through the Northumberland hills. Stopping at Harwood for a quick snack at the variety store. If needed participants will be divided into groups according to pace. Please do not think that this ride is for faster paced riders only, if you can do 100 km feel free to come out.

Newcastle to Port Hope 68/82 km

Meet at: Newcastle Public School, 50 Glass Ct in Newcastle

Ride Lengths: 68/82 km

Regular route is easy on the hills with only 450 m of climbing, extended route is somewhat more challenging with about 700 m of climbing. Both routes are light on traffic. Stopping at Tim’s in Port Hope for a snack.

Port Hope Ride

Meet at: Orono Park, turn west onto Station street from Main St. then left onto Leigh St. in Orono, you will see the Orono Park Sign

Ride difficulty: Medium

There is over 500m of climbing. Expect hills at beginning, a long climb after the break & rolling hilling through the ride.

We will ride at a suitable pace for the participants. Please expect to ride as a group, this is not a race. We may split into groups to accommodate different ride speeds.

Orono Hill Ride Saturday Edition

Meet at: Orono Park, turn west onto Station street from Main St. then left onto Leigh St. in Orono, you will see the Orono Park sign

Ride Length: 107 km

Stopping at Basil’s deli in Port Hope for a break. This ride is about a 8/10 on the difficulty scale.

Please note that there are some short gravel sections due to culvert replacement on Bickle Hill Rd.

If anyone is looking to ride this at a little slower pace, and maybe skipping Starkville Hill, the old ride guy (Eric) will be out for this one.

Newcastle to Port Hope Reverse

Meet at: Newcastle Public School, 50 Glass Crt. in Newcastle Ontario. Take Mill St. exit north from 401, right at Edward, right at Glass.

Newcastle to Port Hope with a twist. Regular route is a little easier on the hills, extended route is definitely more challenging. Both routes are light on traffic.

Newcastle to Port Hope 69/86

 

Meet at: Newcastle Recreation Complex, 1780 Rudell Dr, Newcastle. Take Hwy 35/115 exit from 401, take Hwy 2 east from 35/115 to first traffic light, turn right onto Rudell Dr. Complex is on the west side of Rudell.

Regular route is easy on the hills with only 389 m of climbing, extended route is somewhat more challenging with about 660 m of climbing (RWGPS numbers, actual elevation will be higher). Both routes are light on traffic. Stopping at Tim’s in Port Hope for a snack.
